I craft window panes in all shapes and sizes. These can be made ready for installation for existing window frames or doors, or as overlay panels. This means the finished object can simply be placed over an existing glass, allowing you to transform any glass surface visually without having to alter the existing windows or doors much. We will determine the best option for you together.

Other Objects

A brief introduction to the technique

Each bordered area is an individual piece of glass that must be hand-cut, ground to fit precisely, and encased in copper foil. The individual parts are laid next to each other and joined with a solder made of lead and tin. The art lies in keeping the gaps between the copper edges as small and uniform as possible, so that in the end, a consistently thick lead seam is formed. To achieve a stable construct, the lead must also have flowed between the copper parts and form a semi-rounded, uniform seam on each side. This seam should, of course, also be smooth and pleasing to the eye. This requires patience, care, and a lot of attention to detail.
